Zweifellos zählt die Designerherberge “W Barcelona” zu den markantesten und bekanntesten modernen Architekturen in Barcelona. Das von Ricardo Bofill geplante Hotel ist in seiner Form einem Segel nachempfunden und hat damit direkten Bezug zu seinem Standort an der Küste. Die 26 Stockwerke und 99 Meter hohe gewölbte Glasfassade hebt sich deutlich von der ansonsten flachen Bebauung ab und dient an dem einen Ende des schönen Strandes vielen Touristen als Ziel und Ort des Verweilens. Der aufwendigste Teil der Nachbearbeitung entfiel auf die Entfernung (soweit möglich) der Lichtreflexe, die aufgrund des verwendeten starken Weitwinkelobjektives nicht zu vermeiden waren (zu dieser Uhrzeit und bei diesem Winkel, den ich unbedingt haben wollte).

Undoubtedly the design shelter “W Barcelona” counts to the most remarkable and well known contemporary architecture in Barcelona. The hotel from the architect Ricardo Bofill shows the form of a sail and has hence a direct connection to its place directly at the coast. The 26 floors and 99 meters high convex glass frontage stands in contrast with the plain development and is visitor attraction and place to linger, too. The most work-intensive part in the post production was the canceling of the light reflexes from the wide-angle lense that I couldn’t avoid at that time and with that point of view that I absolutely wanted to have.
